A few randumb things
-Asserting yourself in the work place
Friday while at work I was in the midst of several task. As with our office on a typical Friday everyone was “telecommuting.” I already have my theories about some of them working from home but, basically I think some of the people are not home…rather checking their work email on their pda. So one of the people working from home, emailed me about a project I was supposed to be assisting on. Because I have so many rolling projects I tend to be meticulous when it comes to tying up loose end and things. The email asks have I tried to take a stab at a letter. The letter was for awardee of this particular award we want to give out @ our conference in Oct. I emailed back that was under the impression that I was only to be research on this project, and that I had no idea what this letter was even about. She emails back a whole speech about what the letter is to be about and how the CEO really needed theses to go out this week! Now I’m thinking to myself, well shit if she needs them to go out this week..why haven’t YOU been more diligent in this process? At any rate I went to the CEO and asked her about my role in the project and she basically reaffirmed what I thought. I was only to research! I then emailed the chick back and told her I was to only do research..to that she responded, “I guess things changed.” Shit never changed, you were just trying to pawn some work off on me that she was to do. So for all my folks I know there is someone at your job that tries to test you…work it out before they try to make u their work bitch…lol
-It seems you work all week looking forward to the weekend. Then the weekend gets here and it’s gone already. Blah.
-I go fishing in 2 weeks woo hoo. I can’t wait to hang out with my Philly peoples.
- I’m glad I over book myself. A few folks canceled on me this weekend but I kept it moving without messing a beat.
-Someone asked me if i’ll promote parties again..and i said probably not..not here in baltimore..especially after i saw so many folks @ Mosaic. Black folks complain about having to party with the white folks but they always go to the places they go to…instead of supporting those establishment that that try to cater to them. But i guess that’s with any party promoting scene.
