NFL Preseason 2008
* (there’s always room for some side eye action)*
I cannot wait until the preseason starts. I know alot of folks don’t take stock in the preseason but, I do. There’s no way your team will be booty in the preseason and blaze a trail during the regular season.
I was perusing the schedule and as luck would have it Baltimore plays New England, Thursday, August 7th. With this seemingly new team(because of coaching changes, etc.), I don’t know how my Ravens will fair against goliath’s during our regular season scheduled plays. Who knows who’ll start as our QB that day. Seems you can’t wholly depend on Boller because he buckles under pressure when he’s needed, then you have Troy Smith who’s 2 years in with the team but just as Boller he kinda freezes when in the clutch. The city seems to be all abuzz with talk of Joe Flacco, but what team has started a QB fresh off that college train?
No dis, but last yeat it seemed like our team had injuries left and right and it made me question the age of some of these players anddddd what the hell are they doing in their spare time and off season. People getting injured in training camp and as soon as they step onto the field for the first game. And I’m sure this has no direct reflection on ticket sales.. ugh..
It was reported last week that The Raven’s Offense is trying to build up a swagger and game play to match that of the Ravens’ Defense. I’ll believe it when I see it. Typically Derrick Mason had that swag but last season I don’t know what the hell happened..rather I do. Mcgahee was in and out and well Mason, *shrugs* Hopefully with Cam Cameron’s offensive philosophy, Uncle Ray Ray (Ray Lewis) won’t have to do it all himself and with the help of his Defensive Line. But still I’d like to see the issues with Tackle and Tight End addressed immediately or this new swaggerific offense will have to work over time to establish itself..i mean it already has to but, damn give it a fighting chance.
I just wish for this Raven’s Team an awesome season and i’ll be on the edge of my bed cheering them on.
Lastly, with July moving as fast as it did…August is just about here..and that leave September…Flag Football. I cannot wait…

During Steve Spurrier’s first season, the Redskins had an excellent preseason record, only to suck big time during the regular season. Preseason means nathan. I only watch it to satisfy my jones
couldnt have said it better myself
Preseason success translating into regular season success depends on the composition of your squad.
I don’t expect jack to happen during the 1st preseason game, but I at least expect to see things in motion by the final preseason jawn.
And I seriously think NE’s reign at the top is over.
They’ll prolly make the playoffs, but they shouldn’t be beasting teams like last season.
Every squad saw their weaknesses exposed playing again NE.
They’d have to be morons to not make corrections so they don’t get exploited like that again.
That said: See y’all on Thanksgiving. “Battle of the Birds”.
I’ll admit… I got a bit excited when I saw the picture. Another SD Chargers fan in the Wash/DC area? Oh well…
I agree with the posts above. Pre-season to me is a chance to look at the new potential talent and see if our star running back has recovered from his injuries (LT).
Regardless – I love it. I’m not a fan of cold weather but football makes it all bareable.
Good luck to the Ravens this year. Wonderful blog btw – I hope to read more.
